Trial for teen charged in Cheli's stabbings to resume Monday
The first week wrapped up today in the trial of a teen charged with stabbing two former coworkers to death at Cheli’s Chili Bar.
Blackshear is charged with stabbing his former bosses, Megan Soroka, 49, and Mark Barnard, 52, to death around 9 a.m. on Jan. 2 inside the popular downtown restaurant owned by Detroit Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios.
Blackshear was fired twice as a busboy and dishwasher and told police he went to the restaurant to ask for his job back when he snapped and stabbed the employees with a kitchen knife, according to a confession read during the trial in Wayne County Circuit Court.
